About

Impact Loan Fund is a non-profit loan fund originally founded in 2001 to help provide financing to underserved businesses in Lower Northeast Philadelphia. Originally founded as the lending arm of Impact Services economic development activities, it has worked to support the economic growth in its target area.

The loan fund is dedicated to delivering responsible and affordable lending to help attract and grow existing operating businesses to help business owners success and to create jobs for neighborhood residents. We are successful by being creative and flexible around evaluating credit risk, communicating with borrowers in their own language, and supporting entrepreneurs in controlling their own destiny. In addition to financing, Impact Loan Fund provides training activities and technical assistance to support our belief that education and knowledge are keys to success.

Impact Loan Fund is a Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFI), which is an entity certified by the US Department of Treasury. CDFIs are committed to serve underserved businesses in a designated target area and are accountable by their Board of Directors to the community that it serves. These communities are often ignored by big banks and traditional financial institutions.
